Mind blowing Pepeha Art

In Te Maunga we have been doing art about our pepeha. We drew our maunga and our awa then we coloured in with a pastel. My favorite part about it was that we were telling other people about yourself. You can learn something about other people.

Maesurement

In Te Maunga we learnt about measurement. We learnt how to measure with a ruler and weigh things with grams and kilograms. My favourite activity was Hearty Applause because we learnt how much blood our heart pumps a minute.

cricket

In Te Maunga we have been playing cricket. I learnt about standing the correct way, your feet have to be spread out shoulder width and also holding the bat in the middle. We played a game called speed cricket. The instructions are to hit the ball without hitting the wicket then you run to a pink pad and tap it with the tip of the bat and then you sprint back to the line and pass the bat to the next person.

Poetry

In Te Maunga we have been learning about poetry. I learnt that a metaphor is a simile without using like or as and Alliteration is when you describe something with the same sound at the start.

cross-country

On Friday 25, of September Paihia school did cross country. First we ran around the field then we climbed over the fence up the hill and ran back down all the way to the finish line. After the race I felt good and tired

Geometry

In Te Maunga we have been learning about geometry. I learnt that there are a lot of differences between 2D shapes and 3D shapes because 2D only has faces and corners and 3D has vertices, faces and edges. We made 3D shapes out of little colored sticks and blue tack.

Films

In Te Maunga we have been learning how to make films. I learnt how to use green screen and to zoom in and out and how to pause on the ipad.
